About

For decades, I have maintained a complex set of notes to stay sharp and sane in my career. These exist across various tools like Notepad, GitHub, OneNote or formalised Word documents. This site exists to bring the most interesting bits into a central place, in a single format and to also share them publicly so they may benefit others.

I have a particular interest in private cloud technologies, although I have exposure to public cloud and do appreciate its use cases, I’ve consistently seen organisations struggle with spending sprawl, who have subsequently come to me for advice. I’ve spent considerable years consulting with these sorts of companies, being a voice of sanity when planning where services are best placed in hyperscalers and when they are not.

This blog, in part, is about what is on offer for “cloud-like” infrastructure, for example, with VMware Cloud Foundation and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. As my I.T. interests are broad, I’m sure other topics of interest will also be here.

I have been lucky enough in the decades spent in the industry, gaining a deep understanding across many technology areas, with a specific interest in Virtualisation, Kubernetes, Storage, Networking and Application Delivery.
